Programming Manager

James Tower is seeking a Programming Manager who will be responsible for resource allocation to projects, team development and hiring, and participation in strategic and tactical planning within the Technical Services department.

Provide leadership, guidance and expertise to Technical department employees who are responsible for designing, developing, deploying and maintaining quality Web-based applications for clients. Applications developed primarily in C#.Net and Cold Fusion, with some applications developed in Java.

Candidates must successfully manage resources, timelines, scope, quality and risk for Web development efforts. Collaborate with managers within the Enterprise Architecture, Product Management, Business Analysis, Quality Assurance, Database, Security and Infrastructure Organizations to define and deliver state-of-the-art client Web technologies. Lead the group in establishing/enforcing standards and otherwise providing guidance on the best practices, architecture guidelines, and use of full SDLC, security standards. Work with engineering management to leverage standards across the organization.

Successful candidate will have experience leading Web development efforts using Visual Studio, ASP.net, C#.net, IIS, SQL Server, Cold Fusion, SharePoint, and Web Services. Experience with additional Web technologies (AJAX, Flex, Web 2.0) highly regarded.

Demonstrated knowledge of Web site development including software design characteristics and development in HTML and Web-based services is required.  Qualifications include working knowledge of dynamic Web application development with Cold Fusion, PHP, ASP, ASP.NET or JSP using Oracle or MS SQL databases.  Detailed knowledge of professional standards, practices and principles regarding design and production of e-commerce materials is necessary.  Degree in Computer Science or closely related field preferred; 5+ years of experience in an IT environment with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership position required.
