Copywriter

The Copywriter works closely with designers to conceive and create concepts for Internet marketing activities (including Web sites, banner advertisements, emails and other online marketing initiatives).  Working in the Creative Department, the Copywriter is a professional communicator capable of grasping communication challenges and devising imaginative solutions.  Other attributes include a well-rounded knowledge of the Web, as well as thorough familiarity with leading trends in usability, Search Engine Optimization, online marketing and traditional advertising such as print.

As a Copywriter, you will be responsible for developing user-friendly, unique copy for our network of websites, link building & article syndication, creation of traditional marketing copy for brochures and advertisements, and translating creative direction and copy points from creative briefs into engaging and effective copy concepts.  This position will collaborate with creative team members to determine the conceptual and copy direction for branding and advertising initiatives and work with art directors and designers to ensure copy tone and style are consistent with visual tone and style, and interact with project teams to understand business objectives and audience demographics.  The Copywriter must maintain high standards of copywriting and exercise quality control on all copy.

A Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field with 2-3 years of professional web writing experience, specifically web-based marketing content is required.  Additional qualifications include a thorough knowledge of the English language, grammar, spelling, and punctuation usage, excellent web writing skills including the integration of offline copy to the Web, and excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, editing, and analytical skills. Knowledge of basic SEO and a fundamental knowledge of HTML is a plus.
